The following vaccinations are recommended when travelling to Guatemala:
DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio), Hepatitis A (infectious jaundice), Yellow fever, Dengue and Rabies.

Some of these vaccinations are always advised, regardless of the length of your stay in Guatemala. These are DTP and Hepatitis A. The other vaccination recommendations depend on your health situation, living conditions, length of stay, the areas you visit and the activities you undertake in Guatemala.

Yellow fever
Yellow fever does not occur in Guatemala but a vaccination is mandatory if you are travelling in from a high-risk area or have been in transit in such an area for more than 12 hours.

Malaria
Malaria is prevalent in Guatemala. If you are staying in an area where malaria is prevalent, we sometimes recommend the use of malaria medication. Furthermore, it is important to take protective measures against malaria.
