Vaccinations protect you against infectious diseases that are prevalent in Somalia. Make an appointment for personalised travel advice at vaccinatiecentrum.nl.
The following vaccinations are recommended when travelling to Somalia:
DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio), Hepatitis A (infectious jaundice), Yellow fever, Measles, Hepatitis B, Rabies and Tuberculosis.
Some of these vaccinations are always advised, regardless of the length of your stay in Somalia. These are DTP and Hepatitis A. The other vaccination recommendations depend on your health situation, living conditions, length of stay, the areas you visit and the activities you undertake in Somalia.
Yellow fever is prevalent in Somalia but a vaccination is only mandatory if you are travelling in from a high-risk area or have been in transit in such an area for more than 12 hours.
Malaria is prevalent in Somalia. If you are staying in an area where malaria is prevalent, we sometimes recommend the use of malaria medication. Furthermore, it is important to take protective measures against malaria.
